Central Queensland University (CQU) attending the annual Austrade event, it’s crucial to highlight the significant implications of Australia’s newly released Migration Strategy for our international students. This strategy, launched on 11 December 2023, introduces transformative reforms aimed at enhancing the integrity and quality of Australia’s international education programs. It ensures a safer, more supportive, and equitable environment for international students, thereby enriching their Australian educational experience and facilitating their career success post-graduation.
The Migration Strategy emphasizes clear post-study pathways, including opportunities for work and potential pathways to permanent residency for graduates whose skills and qualifications are in demand. Notably, it introduces higher English language requirements and a more stringent Genuine Student (GS) requirement to ensure that only genuine students benefit from Australia’s education system. These changes are designed to improve the quality of education and support international students in achieving their career goals in Australia.
For us, this strategy presents an opportunity to further align our programs with the enhanced quality standards and support structures set by the Australian Government. It underscores our commitment to providing high-quality education to international students, ensuring they have a fulfilling and successful study experience in Australia.
