On 2 September 2020, CQUniversity Associate Vice-Chancellor Professor Hendrik Halim met the Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Mr Bahlil Lahadalia. Professor Hendrik Halim discussed CQUniversity expansion plan into regional Indonesia as well as the university’s involvement in the Triple Helix Program with Bappenas and Buleleng Local Government in Bali. They further discussed the regulatory impediments which have impeded CQUniversity’s investment to become a large world class education provider in regional Indonesia. Mr Bahlil asserts that CQUniversity’s experience in international student education and its expertise in agriculture could be of strategic value to Indonesia. He encouraged the university to proceed with its plans in Indonesia and agreed to resolve any regulatory problems in the process.
